Enterprise Design Groups was formed by Grant Getman to be an opportunity to business owners to help them transform their cultures from “spreadsheet management” to complete enterprise design. Mr. Getman’s combined experience and accomplishments in troubled-debt restructure, and systems design and implementation are talents not readily available to small to medium-sized business.
Mr. Getman served from 2000 to 2007 as Chief Financial Officer of a $45 million rental company providing heavy, earth-moving equipment to the construction industry in the Southwest. Mr. Getman led the installation of comprehensive operations software integration into every standard practice. The cultural transformation that occurred produced many benefits the results of which were:
• Restructured Company financing with a single $60 million credit facility from 29 loans and leases totaling $18 million.
• Profits grew to $3.3 million from a loss of $500,000.
• Equity increased to $11.5 million from $4 million.
• Cumulative income taxes paid by stockholders totaled less than $150,000 for 2002 through 2006, the most profitable years.
In 1993, Mr. Getman was engaged to manage the liquidation of a loan portfolio acquired from the United States Resolution Trust Corporation (“RTC”). Management consisted of debt-workout of 33 non-performing loans totaling $130 million. Results of the portfolio were as follows:
• Repaid the $12 million acquisition cost in 20 months
• Distributions of profits to investors and value of the real estate portfolio after seven years totaled $50 million.
Mr. Getman began his career in industry in 1987 and became President of a holding company for a diverse group of investment concerns, including, heavy construction equipment, sand and gravel reserves, residential and commercial real property, construction debris landfills, and a regulated public utility. In 1993, he completed a successful restructure of $12 million of troubled debt to allowing the principal to be bankable within 18 months.
Mr. Getman has been a trusted advisor to wealthy clients and their businesses for 30 years. His talents include the ability to creatively structure complex transactions and entities to accomplish owners’ objectives.
Mr. Getman has been licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Arizona since 1980 and practiced in public accounting from 1978 to 1987 providing help to privately-held businesses.
